Brightline names Mike Reininger CEO of Brightline Holdings

Brightline Trains announced last week the appointment of Mike Reininger as Chief Executive Officer of Brightline Holdings. Reininger is a familiar face at Brightline, having served as the president and chief development officer from 2012 to 2018. Under his leadership, Brightline launched and completed the development of its phase one system from Miami to West Palm Beach, including stations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.

Marriott announced the unexpected passing of Arne M. Sorenson, President and CEO

Arne M. Sorenson, President and CEO, unexpectedly passed away on February 15, 2021. When Mr. Sorenson stepped back from full-time management in early February, the company tapped two veteran Marriott executives, Stephanie Linnartz and Tony Capuano, to share responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company’s business units and corporate functions, in addition to maintaining their current responsibilities.



Dr. Henry Ting to join Delta as airline’s first Chief Health Officer

If you have never heard before that there are new positions in the airline industry, such as Chief Health Office, meet Dr. Henry Ting, a medical leader with deep and broad experience in patient care, medical research, education and management. Tomorrow is his first day in this position at Delta Air Lines, though this world-renowned cardiologist has partnered with Delta on health and safety practices since the pandemic’s early days. Delta's CEO Ed Bastian wants to establish Delta as a model for how organizations promote physical and mental health.



American Airlines becomes the only US carrier with nonstop service from Miami to Tel Aviv and Paramaribo, Suriname

American introduces new destination to route map with nonstop service from Miami (MIA) to Paramaribo, Suriname and adds new flight from MIA to Tel Aviv (TLV) beginning in June. MIA will launch a new summer service to Little Rock, Arkansas (LIT), and Portland, Maine (PWM). Airline increases capacity to Latin America and the Caribbean with additional frequencies from MIA to the Caribbean starting in April.



Faena Group and Accor embark on global venture to expand the Faena brand worldwide

On January 26, Alan Faena and Len Blavatnik of Faena Group, together with Sébastien Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Accor, announced in Paris the launch of a global strategic partnership focused on expanding the Faena brand around the globe. The new venture will manage Faena Buenos Aires and Faena District Miami Beach, as well as all future projects created in collaboration together.
