Carnival Cruise Line Resumes Guest Operations from PortMiami

Carnival Cruise Line kicked off its first cruise in almost 16 months from PortMiami, the Cruise Capital of the World, today with the departure of Carnival Horizon, providing a significant boost to the local economy and the tens of thousands of jobs in South Florida that are supported by the cruise industry. Of the 437,000 cruise industry-supported jobs in the USA, nearly 37% are in Florida.

Emirates to launch new service to Miami in July

On June 3, Emirates announced it will launch four weekly direct flights between Miami and Dubai, beginning July 22, 2021. With the new service, Emirates will expand its US network to 12 destinations, providing the airline’s global travelers with the second access point to Florida (after Orlando, effective in July) and offering convenient connections for travelers heading to the Middle East, West Asia and the Indian Ocean area via Dubai.

Visit Lauderdale is the new brand for Greater Fort Lauderdale

Broward County’s tourism organization has a new name. On May 5, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau announced its new brand as Visit Lauderdale with the destination tagline ‘Everyone Under the Sun,’ reflecting the diversity and welcoming nature of the Greater Fort Lauderdale region. The announcement comes during National Travel and Tourism Week.
